Irish harpsichordist Emer Buckley attended University College, Dublin, where she developed an interest in the harpsichord, and she continued her work in France and Italy. Her teachers included John Beckett, Kenneth Gilbert, and Huguette Dreyfus. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at many international festivals and for radio broadcasts. Since 1994, Buckley has played harpsichord with the Lachrimae Consort, and she participated in recording El Jardin Oscuro with the group. Buckley teaches harpsichord and figured bass at the Conservatoire de Rayonnement Régional in Lille, France. She has recorded for Harmonia Mundi, Erato, and Ligia Digital, among other labels, and with Jochewed Schwarz, she has released two volumes of François Couperin's Les Nations on Toccata Classics.
