How to Pitch Your Song to Spotify Editorial Playlists

Spotify lets every artist pitch an unreleased song directly to its editorial team through Spotify for Artists. There is no fee and no guarantee, but a well-prepared pitch gives your song a real chance, and pitching early also helps your release reach your followers.
Step 1: Get access to Spotify for Artists
Claim your artist profile in Spotify for Artists. If this is your first release, your profile becomes available once your music has been delivered to Spotify. Use exactly the same artist name you use in SpaceMedia so your releases land on the right profile.
Step 2: Submit your release early
You can only pitch a song before it is released, and Spotify needs time to review it. Submit your release to SpaceMedia several weeks ahead of the release date. Once Spotify has received it, the upcoming release appears in Spotify for Artists.
Step 3: Pitch at least seven days before release
Spotify recommends pitching at least seven days before release day. Pitching in time also places your song in your followers' Release Radar playlists. More time is better: editors plan many playlists well in advance.
Step 4: Fill in the details carefully
The pitch form asks about genre, mood, instruments, song style and culture. Answer precisely. Editors use these details to find the right playlists, and a vague or inaccurate description makes your song harder to place.
Step 5: Write a pitch editors want to read
- Lead with the song. What makes it different? Describe the sound and the feeling in one or two sentences.
- Add context. The story behind it, a notable collaborator, or a sync or radio placement.
- Show momentum. Mention your marketing plans: a video, a tour, press coverage or a social campaign.
- Keep it short and honest. Avoid hype words and comparisons you cannot back up.
Step 6: Keep promoting
Editorial playlists are only one route. Algorithmic playlists such as Release Radar, Discover Weekly and Radio respond to real listener behaviour: saves, repeat plays, follows and playlist adds. Send fans to the song with a pre-save link before release and a smartlink afterwards, and pitch independent curators too.
What to avoid
- Paying for guaranteed playlist placements or streams. This can lead to removed streams and takedowns.
- Pitching the same song again after release. Pitches are for unreleased music only.
- Choosing genres just because they are popular. Accurate tags reach the right listeners.
Plan your pitch into your release timeline, and submit your next release with SpaceMedia early enough to pitch it.

Può includere servizi principali come Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, TikTok, Facebook e Instagram, SoundCloud, Tidal, Pandora, Boomplay, Anghami, iHeart, JioSaavn, KKBOX, NetEase Cloud Music, Tencent, Qobuz e altri partner supportati.
Most major streaming services do not let every artist upload music directly. A distributor like SpaceMedia delivers your audio, artwork, metadata, and rights information to supported platforms so your release can appear on services such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, TikTok, and others.
Create an account, choose the plan that fits your needs, upload the final release files, review the details, and submit. SpaceMedia reviews Free submissions within 5 business days, Premium submissions within 2 business days, and Label submissions within 1 to 2 business days. Store publishing happens afterwards.
Independent music distribution lets artists release music to streaming, download, and social platforms without signing to a traditional record label. You stay in control of your music while using a distributor to deliver it to supported services.
With SpaceMedia, you can manage releases, artist details, earnings, and payout information from your account. All standard plans let users keep 100% of standard DSP royalties.
The Free plan lets artists release music without an upfront distribution fee and keep 100% of standard DSP royalties.
This gives new artists a way to start releasing music before paying for a yearly plan. Premium and Label add more primary-artist capacity and tools. All standard plans include 100% of standard DSP royalties.
