Abee is a Dutch singer, songwriter, and producer known for her ultramodern, atmospheric R&B sound. Inspired by vocalists like Sabrina Claudio, H.E.R. and Alina Baraz, Abee’s lush voice evokes comparisons to both Sade and Jhené Aiko—accompanied by a vibey mix of alternative R&B and ambient soundscapes. Her songwriting features finely-honed observations on everything from self-exploration to romantic experience, strategically refined in spots to emphasize the instrumental storytelling. After breaking into the music industry as a singer-songwriter, Abee signed with Universal Music Publishing and went on to release a series of successful EDM tracks (supported by Martin Garrix and Tiësto). Since then, she’s been developing her distinctive style, earning millions of Spotify streams along the way. With the 2023 release of her debut EP, Blossom, Abee showcases her characteristic sparse-yet-expansive, compellingly moody sound with a deft mix of guitar, piano, vocals, and cinematic electronic elements. The EP’s five unique tracks explore the lyrical theme of the artist becoming her own woman.
