Cap Benson born Donald Alexander Phillips is an American rapper from Camden, NJ. Raised by his father, Cap was introduced to the harsh reality of his surroundings very early. At the age of 8, he witnessed a murder outside of his home in the Washington Park Apartments on the east side of Camden. Years later, Cap and his father relocated to Atlanta, GA where he attended North Atlanta High School, Center for the Arts. There he learned to play many instruments to include saxophone, flute, guitar and piano. 
 Cap draws influences from a broad range of artists such as Keni G, Drake, Tory Lanez, Anita Baker and more. In 2013 he released his first project entitled One Without Wealth which he pays homage to his hometown with an album cover depicting the famous Camden water tower in the city’s Whitman Park neighborhood. Two months later, he joined the United States Navy. His next project wasn’t until 2016’s Glory. Cap is currently working on multiple projects to include the next two installments of the renowned “Luvrboy” series as well as an full length LP entitled “Eastside” set to release respectively.
