Rick Guerre is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and experimental recording artist from Miami, Florida. His one-man studio productions reference a peculiar variety of influences while retaining a balance between unconventional studio methodology and basic pop sensibility. His solo career began in 2008 under the name This Heart Electric; his debut on Die Stasi records, Polar b/w Nowhere to run… (2009) gained critical acclaim, including a mention in Wire magazine. Later, in search of a simpler presentation, he traded the name for a shortened version of his birth name and the synthesizer compositions for surf-inspired, unplugged lo-fi. Guerre has since returned to the studio, crafting his most refined and ambitious experimental pop recordings to date, continually guided by his insatiable appetite for evolution and unexplored musical territory.
