Born in Chicago, IL Ashton Vines was introduced to live music at a very early age. Listening to all types of music from jazz to Motown Ashton naturally fell in love with music. By age 6 Ashton started playing the saxophone and as he matured began studying under musicians such as Terry Tritt (Saturday Night Live Band), Walter Blanding (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra), and Charlie Young (Howard University), just to name a few. After high school, Ashton relocated to Washington, DC to attend the prestigious Howard University to earn his Bachelor’s of Arts. Ashton also completed a 7 city Japan tour with the Howard Jazz Ensemble which afforded him the opportunity to gain unique internal influences unlike anything he had ever experienced in the U.S. He learned first-hand that music was a universal language which provided him a deeper appreciation and understanding for his art. Ashton has also performed with the likes of Aretha Franklin, McCoy Tyner and Pharoah Sanders. After graduating from HU Ashton recorded, produced, and released his first album in 2015 entitled "Summer". His single, Planes received more than 30k streams on SC. He then dropped his sophomore album "New Beginnings” in June 2016. For Christmas 2018 he released, This Christmas and Christmas Time is Here along with a music video, Give It To Someone Special. In April 2019 a track co-produced by Ashton entitled "Slide" by French Montana feat Blue Face and Lil TJay was released. Ashton currently lives in Los Angeles.
