James Michael Dion-Blount was born on February 7, 1992 in San Diego, CA to a single mother who was inbetween both East and West coasts. At age 4 he was moved to Cape Cod, MA where he became active in children's musical theater at Harwich Junior Theater until his family relocated to Estancia, NM in 2003. He graduated high school in 2010 and went on to pursue a degree in film and creative writing at the University of New Mexico. By 2012, he had become disillusioned with college and had begun writing melodies and lyrics seriously under a persona he named Ike Ion. Sonically, dubstep and aggressive electronic beats influence the music the most. In 2013, Ike Ion went into the studio for the first time to record his first songs but they were never officially released. A series of instrumental creations and other beats made on phone apps were released to SoundCloud but vocals were never recorded. From this time on, Ike Ion wrote songs exclusively in his bedroom, stockpiling lyrics until he was ready to officially record them. In 2016, soon after the historic presidential election, Ike Ion became involved with the local drag scene and began performing at various Drag balls as well as being as part of the New Mexico Gay Men's Chorus. He performed at his first paid gig at Albuquerque Pride Fest 2017, but relocated to Cape Cod, MA later that summer. While performing locally at open mic nights in Cape Cod, Ike Ion began recording his first official release SOUNDIET. SOUNDIARY out 9/11/20.
