Juan Sanchez (Born August 15), professionally known as MixedByCrook, is an American music producer and audio mixing engineer from Bellflower, CA. Most recognized for his work with West Coast artists Rucci, G Perico, KalanFrFr, 1TakeJay, J Stone, Dom Kennedy, Jay305, 03 Greedo, and Fenix Flexin, Crook has quickly racked up a highly celebrated catalog since his start in 2014. Growing up between Harbor City and Compton, he attended Narbonne High School. In adulthood, he became inspired by American Grammy-winning mixing engineer MixedByAli’s work for Kendrick Lamar. In 2011, Crook took the initiative and attended Los Angeles Recording School in Hollywood, CA, where he received his Associate’s degree in Recording Arts in 2012. He officially stepped into the professional scene in 2014 alongside J Stone, working at the Marathon Studios recording “In My Zone” featuring Nipsey Hussle, which appeared on the “25/8 No Breaks” tape. Regarding producing, Crook is inspired by his peers, whose sounds are often compared to those of Pharrell, Kanye, and Hit-Boy. Crook’s plethora of contributions through audio mixing goes hand in hand with his current stance on the West Coast. In August of 2022, he released his first official album, KING. The album is named after his son King. The official album artwork was inspired by The Game’s 2005 studio album Documentary.
