I go by the name of "G Boy" and this is "My Story". I was brought up in an urban community, where crime was rampant and the neighborhoods where infested with street hoodlums. Though tucked away in a small corner in the City of Angeles, the "Street Life" was immensely present. Being the youngest of 6 boys, I seen before me the types of roads in life one can take and where it could lead. My household was one where drugs frequently went in and out of, as well as the local police department. I experienced my first house raid by the L.A.P.D in 1993 when i was about 5 years old. I lost my older brother to the streets when i was 11, and by 2003 i found myself sitting in a juvenile detention facility. In my early teens, I was Infatuated by the culture and customs of the local street gang, so I took my first step into the life of a Gangster. My very own family had deep gang ties and this encouraged my attraction even more. The "Gang Life" was always present to me at home, at school, or in the streets where i played as a child. It's all I seen, and all I knew. I soon became aware of what was to come of me by watching this life through the eyes of those before me. I got wise and took precautions in order to survive the system. The same system that many adolescents from big cities like L.A, Chicago and the N.Y.C get caught up in. Some simply learn how to break the cycle while others make it a continuous phase. Once again, Im "G-Boy", Welcome to my journey, Welcome to my struggle.
