Finding strength in her vulnerability, Thala is writing her sharpest, boldest material yet, deeply personal explorations of the self painted in vivid pictures with influences coming from old school 90s indie-rock: from the dazzling soundscapes of Mazzy Star to the bittersweet pop of Juliana Hatfield. 2023 has marked a busy touring period for Thala. After playing SXSW and The Great Escape, support to Paolo Nutini, Temples etc she recently just wrapped up her first EU + UK headline tour. Having already won the backing of BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Wonderland Magazine, Line of Best Fit, Clash & many more, her EP 'In Theory Depression' was also included in Rough Trade's 2023 releases of the year. Recalling the tangled indie-rock of Holly Humberstone, Soccer Mommy, and beabadoobee while underpinned by spiky, surging guitars, it unearths tenderness even as it rages. On the rise she’s opened for well known international acts such as Current Joys , Snail Mail, Surf Curse, Giant Rooks and many more.
