There was a time in the 1990's you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Babe the blue OX show in Downtown NYC. Part of the renaissance of "no wave" meets "knitting factory" meets "power pop" that struck musicians born in the 1960s, the band made albums for Indie Heroes Homestead Records before jumping to RCA in 1995. And while they haven't toured since 2000, they've been playing thrice-annual shows for the past quarter century, and raising families, while remaining the best of friends and collaborators. A new record "Guilty" hit in 2009, with a new one planned for 2024. Among them, they're a lawyer (drummer Hanna Fox), architect (percussionist/singer Eddie Gormley), Personal Financial Advisor ( bassist/singer Rose Thomson), and non-profit Arts Executive Director (guitarist/singer Tim Thomas), so you know your middle aged needs are in good hands. But don't expect to lulled into acquiescence. This is restless music made by people who have no time for your rules.
