James Bishop (a.k.a. Bishop the Baker) is a DJ and music producer based in Lexington, Kentucky. He occupies his time trying to make good things--whether that's bread, hip hop, house music, dessert, techno, etc. Anything beautiful and good is fair game. His music reflects this attitude as it encompasses a range of styles that never quite stay in their lane. Though his current taste trends toward house and techno, his lasting appreciation for rock and metal still rears its head in the occasional recording. 
 Bishop the Baker's debut project, Loaves (Oct. '18), is the honest product of a young producer with a budding love for house and dance music. His second EP, Knead (Jan. '19), continues to explore that realm with added elements from rap and hip hop. In so many words, he discusses elements of his own creativity as well a deep concern for environmental issues. August 2019 saw the release of Rhubarb, a hard-hitting collection of dance tracks inspired by Miami’s dance clubs. A full on collaboration with friend & filmmaker Platipodas yielded Boris the Animal in 2020. Though a light year, 2021 saw the release of Cage Match as well as a remix of the brilliant Daniel Loumpouridis' For U. After a period of stasis, the Baker is back in 2023 with Can I Have Your Number, a blistering yet haunting techno track. From the trajectory established by these early releases, it's safe to say that Bishop the Baker has much more to say, and even more to give to his listeners and fellow humans.
