Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Star Captains keyboardist Max Zipursky, vocalist NaRai, guitar/bassist Gavin Youngash, live controllerist Daniel Child, and guitarist Jim Black connect to share their infectious grooves, captivating musicality, and unforgettable live performances. Following their first album, New Freedoms (2013), Lightwork (2019), found the band merging their deeply rooted pop/rock influences, along with the endless sonic possibilities of digital music production. Recently, Star Captains have spent their time recording from The Space Studios, their hand-built 1000 sq. ft converted industrial East Vancouver haven. The sounds resonating from this bespoke musical sanctuary combine analog textures from their past, electronic sounds from the future, and collaborations with musicians who have been part of SC’s journey since day one.
