Canadian-born producer, Lotech/Hijack takes his musical cues from the second-wave Dub Techno influences of Detroit and Berlin. The all-consuming fixation on echo/delay/reverb and repetition show through in his works. Crafting each element obsessively as if to advance the aesthetic of the mid/late 2000's and 2010's Dub Techno sound. Carving out a niche amongst his contemporaries. Finding his creative flow in the mid-90’s rave scene of Toronto, he worked as a DJ under different monikers. Experimenting with the flavours of that time until the late 90’s techno sounds of Detroit, Sweden and Germany took root. During the innovative and intensely creative period of late 90’s and early 00’s techno, he was exposed to dub and minimal at his local record shop (Speed Records) by store owner Chad Breen and a young Mike Shannon, who had just begun his now legendary Cynosure label. 
 The influence of these early releases moved his focus to an obsession with dub and ambient. Years of tinkering and refining his sound led to a more serious effort in 2019. With a growing catalogue of releases on well respected labels (Greyscale/Sanghyang Dedari/Drift Deeper/Crossfade Sounds etc.) Lotech/Hijack has become a fixture in the mixes of many DJ's.
