Born in the projects of South Central San Jose, AFTEREMPIRE first gained notoriety during the 1992 L.A. riots. Both Crips and Bloods alike could not resist the infectious boom baps, which eventually united the two factions, as they finally squashed their age long feud in a heated dance battle. Continuing on from that succes, AE went on to dominate the 1990's from behind the scenes, creating the instrumentals for some of the most iconic tunes of the decade, and headlining the hottest festivals. Around 1999 however, AFTEREMPIRE disappeared from the scene completely, leaving fans and haters alike scratching their heads and wondering, "Ay. Where dis fool is be?" For 6 long years he stayed in hiding, crafting a sound that no one had ever heard before. While others were finding success in EDM with house music and similar styles, AE was in the slums of London, building an army of musicians, all the while spreading his groundbreaking new sound to legions of unknown artists who would, in the years to come, turn into the biggest artists of the 2000's. This new musical idea, became Dubstep, and Grime. Knowing that music can never belong to any one man, he chose to let others rise to fame during this time. Once again receding into the shadows, developing new musical styles for the benefit of the future, AE has been crafting tunes quietly, with headphones on... until now.
