Doc Phill (b. Phillip Culver) is a producer, graphic designer, and founder of the Kentucky-based imprint Bassline Division. He's most notable for producing Chill Kousin's 2018 smoker's anthem 'Gemini', and teaming up with J-Ideas on the bass-driven 'Midwest Power' beat-tape. Doc's style of production can be described as very dark and grungy, with crisp but hard-hitting drums, haunting melodies, and hypnotizing samples. Not one to place limitations on his influences, Doc credits the likes of Quincy Jones, J Dilla, DJ Screw, George Benson, Flying Lotus, Timbaland, Roni Size, Anita Baker, and Pharrell Williams with the pursuit of creating a timeless sound and a rich musical legacy.
