Hey - I'm Craig. I am originally from Salem-Keizer, Oregon, but I am now based in Boston. I perform spoken word poetry as Fragile Bird. People who know me know I have a lot to say. This new project is meant to be me finally sharing my words as a purely spoken word venture. I've ditched playing guitar for this project with the focus now being on collaborations. I've been doing spoken word poetry for about 15 years and it's been a big part of my performances and I've always been drawn to artists that put themselves out there in such a vulnerable way - bands and poets alike. A few years ago, when I released Farewell, I decided to leave my previous moniker, another musician, in the past. I have truly progressed as a person and I look at myself as less of a musician and more of a spoken word artist and that's what I plan to pursue with my art from here on out. Instead of myself making the music, this project focuses on collaborations - which you will read about as you scroll down! Following the release of "The Problem of Pain" in 2020, I received wonderful feedback about the approach I've taken to my new venture and now I'm continuing the creative process with my new record, "A Remedy for Ringing Ears." I learned so much with the previous album and over the last year and a few months, I've been working with a new set of creatives (minus a couple returners) and some extra voices to help me put together this new experience.
