A band as multi-faceted as its many headed namesake is a symphonic metal formation from Regensburg, Germany. In 2015 HYDRA released their debut „Malachite Skies“ The music is caracterized by deliberate contrasts. On the band's first CD „Malachite Skies“ enchanting melodies, orchestra elements and heavy metal riffing can be heard. Soprano singer Lisa adds her light, aetherical voice to the musical soundscape. One of the highlights on the CD clearly is the guest appearance of Liv Kristine (Ex-Leaves' Eyes, Ex-Theatre of Tragedy). In December 2016 HYDRA released their second full length CD „Solar Empire“ The Songs on the second release easily show the musical progress of the band. „Solar Empire“ is a concept album which is based on a fantasy story written by Lisa Rieger. All songs show off more versatility and are faster, more symphonic and progressive compared to the debut CD. In Autumn 2016 the band released a music video for the song „Between Two Worlds“. On „Solar Empire“ the following known guest musicians can be heard: - Henning Basse (Firewind / Mayan) - Ally Storch (Ally The Fiddle / Subway To Sally) - Zuberoa Aznárez (Diabulus In Musica). Conquering the live stages around Europe Since summer 2015 HYDRA have played a few dozen shows in 7 different countries of Europe. The band played festivals as well as club shows. Currently HYDRA are preparing for a new sound - Hydra 2.0
