Washington native Chvmpagne Jay Murillo is a Latino R&B and Hip-Hop recording artist known for his unique melodic flows and unconventional wordplay. 
 Born in Wapato, one of the poorest towns in the state his parents relocated to Yakima in their quest to give him a better life. “My childhood was full of fun, lessons, and music.” Being exposed to Michael Jackson, 112, and 50 Cent would inspire him and by age 13 he started to pursue his own artistry. “I love these artists. They’re all so different and i can still relate to them.” 
 Realizing that if he had any chance of making it he would need to move to a major city with a local music scene and more opportunity, Chvmpagne set his sights on Seattle. Besides being the launchpad of Rock legends Nirvana and Pearl Jam and Hip-Hop chart toppers Sir Mix-a-Lot and Macklemore Seattle was also the most logical choice. But making this move wasn’t easy because Chvmpagne had zero dollars. His only option was to crash at an abandon house his boys trapped out of. “My teen years were hard. Crashed with my homies in a traphouse, was homeless for a span of 2 years but stayed grinding. (I) Still had fun and learned a lot.” 
 Now with his life being a little more stable his quest has taken him to Los Angeles which is a long way from Wapato. Here he can cook up in his lab and put all of his focus into his craft. "I can do R&B, Hip-Hop, Boom Bap but it’s not up to me to decide if I’m different. I do what I love. My feelings translate into songs."
