Moguido is the band of Amsterdam-based rapper/guitarist/producer/singer Guido Schotten. With his unique skill of rapping while playing guitar, the live show is a combination of rap, neo-soul, funk, jazz and folk. After producing for other artists (Shishani, G-DO & Xception) and playing guitar in acoustic rap band The Soul Travelers, Moguido is now stepping into the spotlight of his own. On his self-produced debut album "My Fantasy Infinity", the beats are a blend of J Dilla style hiphop/neosoul with live instrumentation. The raps are influenced by the smooth flows of artists like Mos Def and Q-Tip . The album features fellow band members from The Soul Travelers and Namibian-Dutch soul singer Shishani. Recurring themes on this album include using music to escape reality and trying to find the meaning of life through spirituality and dreams. Moguido usually remembers his dreams and has experimented extensively with exploring the unconscious through lucid dreaming. The music reflects these inner journeys. In fact, Moguido first heard many songs on this album in his dreams and then translated them to the physical world after waking up.
