Born in West London, Shiva Feshareki is the Ivor Novello award-winning composer, artist and turntablist, described as “the most cutting-edge expression of turntablism” and as “one of the most astonishing acts of musical alchemy of the last decade” (BBC Radio 3’s Tom Service). Over the last decade, she has been a pioneer at the leading edge of both contemporary classical and electronic music scenes.
Her critically acclaimed live album Turning World uses her trademark turntables to ply and wield a multitude of strands together, combining her own composition with that of pioneering electronic musician Daphne Oram, featuring an array of top artists and ensembles including Kit Downes, the BBC Singers and the London Contemporary Orchestra.
'Cavernous voices singing sacred melodies from a distant time are re-examined through the lens of electronics to close the gaps between past, present and future.' - The Quietus
