The album marks a significant evolution for the group as they welcome Sheffield-based vocalist Aziza Jaye to the forefront, adding a fresh dimension of Patois and RnB to their sound. The heady, sun-drenched release is peppered with impressive collaborations, including musical legends Nile Rodgers and Seun Kuti who bring their trademark disco and afrobeat mastery to tracks ‘Lights Out’ and ‘Carry Me’ respectively. Since forming in 2011 at the Leeds College of Music, Nubiyan Twist have risen to become one of the leading groups in the fertile UK music scene. Known for their eclectic blend of styles and powerful sound, the virtuosic nine-piece band’s thrilling exploration of tight musicianship and infectious grooves have consistently mesmerised audiences. Their self-titled debut album (2015) and acclaimed ‘Jungle Run’ ( 2019) led to their third massive album ‘Freedom Fables’, released on Strut in March 2021.
