One of the most exciting Irish bands of any genre, Tebi Rex's 2019 debut album The Young Will Eat The Old was lauded as one of the domestic releases of the year. The inclusion of ‘I Never Got Off The Bus’ on the soundtrack for global hit TV series Normal People set up the album nicely, bringing their music to a wider audience around the world and leading to The Young Will Eat The Old breaking one million streams. Featuring some of the band’s darkest, most aggressive songs alongside moments in the alternative pop sunshine, 2021 follow up It’s Gonna Be Okay tackled life in modern Ireland, politics, racism, death, anxiety, austerity, social media and a moment of clarity on a rainy Dublin evening. 2022 found them undertake their debut UK tour alongside more Irish shows, Other Voices Wales and a first visit to mainland Europe for the United Islands festival in Prague. Following solo projects from both members (Matt Ó and Filmore!) they regrouped in 2023 - starting with the joyous / deluded pop influenced single ‘IMTHEBEST’, launched at an intimate Tebi Desk show and the video for which premiered on Complex. Next release ‘People Pleaser’ arrived on the back two shows at Body & Soul festival and complete with a typically inventive video. Their latest EP Sitcom is out now, featuring the singles alongside the post punk rant ‘Main Character’ and hard hip-hop of ‘my friends moved away last summer’.
