Miles has been recognized by fans and artists alike for their assertive, agile delivery, dense, interwoven lyrics, uniquely personal and playful songwriting voice, and diverse, dedicated output. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Miles began making music in 2016 and gradually connected and collaborated with pioneers of the SoundCloud lo-fi hip-hop scene (such as your best friend jippy, Chris Wright, Atwood, teeawgo, Dahm., and love-sadKID). In 2018 they became a founding member of punk-rock-inspired internet rap group Cemetery Drive. The group has amassed over 40 million streams and continues to evolve its sound and audience. In 2020 Miles began to truly establish themselves as a solo artist by releasing monthly singles (now the Pittock Compilation) and Make Way For Goodbyes with bandmate Cloud Mac, a love-song hip-hop mixtape that amassed well over a million plays. In 2022 they dropped fan-favorite EPs The Jippy Tape and Living with Yourself, followed by collaborative project D.M.T. in 2023 and a series of related singles, now Lurk (a lot). Miles is working on their debut album. Miles is inspired by the convergence of crafted, heartfelt songwriting with equally skillful and inspired musicality, as is found in the catalog of artists new and old, such as Sylvan LaCue, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Mac Miller, Rakim, Big L, and André 3000.
