Martin Neu received piano, cello and organ tuition from an early age. He studied at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart , at Concordia University Montréal, Canada, and at the Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität in Mainz. He graduated in church music and received a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Music Performance (with distinction). His organ teachers included Werner Jacob, Bernard Lagacé, Bernhard Haas and Gerhard Gnann. As an organist, Martin Neu has won numerous scholarships and awards (including from the Rotary-Club, DAAD [G e rm a n Ac ad e mic E xc h a nge S e rvice], Ansbacher Bachwoche, Stiftung Podium junger Künstler, International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition, Leipzig 2000). In 1993 he was admitted into the Study Foundation of the German People and in 20 02 t he University of Mainz awarded him the Johannes-Gutenberg-prize for outstanding artistic achievements. Mar tin Neu has given concerts in Germany, Switzerland, France, Poland, Hungary, Spain and Canada. He is organist and choirmaster at St Peter and St Paul with St Elisabeth in Reutlingen. He is also responsible for the music at the deanery of Reutlingen/Zwiefalten and, as the representative of the diocese of Rottenburg/Stuttgart, the subject of “organ education”. Martin Neu lives in Tübingen with his family.
