As an avid songwriter, Laila has written hundreds of original songs but started in 2017 as a YouTube cover artist phenomenon. At only 15 years-old, she was a contestant on Season 19 of American Idol. Her rendition of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You" was her final performance. Although just shy of making it to the Top 24, Mach has been given so much praise for her talents. Judge Katy Perry said that Laila has “the skill set and the talent” with a voice that’s “only getting better, and better, and better.” Upon turning 18 this year, it’s clear Laila's talents have matured over the past few years as she continued to write many songs and sharpen her skills. Recently, she has been posting a lot of original content (along with her covers) on social media, most especially TikTok—gaining a growing supportive and hungry audience that is anticipating new material and can’t wait to see what comes next.
