Nick Tolentino, aka Plusgroove began his musical career in the early 2000s. He developed his music taste at a younger age and was influenced by the sounds of the 70s and 80s listening to disco tracks, pop music, and the beginnings of hip hop, house and freestyle. He started deejaying in high school in the 90s and from there his record collection started to grow. He would often listen to any radio station that played underground house and hip hop, mainly college radio and various fm stations. It wasn't until the early 2000s where he became more serious about producing his own music. Music software became more accessible and technology began to evolve that made it more affordable to create music. As he continued to deejay around Toronto, Ontario, he made connections within the music scene. It was in the year 2005 where he started Plusgroove Records but his first published release was a track titled As Time Goes On put out on Gemma Records, a Toronto based company. He went on to produce and release music with good friends, Marco Marquez and Jason Merced (Jakdat Records). Adding to the catalog of releases, they remixed songs for other artists in the United States. Plusgroove is back after a hiatus and offers an E.P. titled Then And Now. It's a reflection of different house genre influences from classic house, acid house, soulful and vocal house. He has more projects in the works. Stay tuned.
