Melvesant is a uniquely talented classic house duo from Durban, South Africa. Bringing their awesome individual talents together, Lindani ‘Melodramatiq’ Mthuli (vocalist and song-writer) and Mesuli ‘Styvesant’ Magubane (producer) ignite original explosive sounds of lyric house music. This duo grew up living four houses away from each other. They both had a tremendous love for music but their musical paths tend to differ before they teamed up. ‘’Melodramatiq’’, the vocalist, explored his love of music when he was introduced to live instrument music exposing him to jazz and pop-rock genres. This further propelled his amazing song-writing skill and his vocal abilities. He then went to the University of Kwazulu Natal to further and nourish his music and drama performance talent. By the time he graduated he was sharply groomed and was ready to face the South African music industry with his pop-rock music. But before he could even start pursuing his rock aspirations he met an amazing, talented and down-to-earth producer by the name of Styvesant. This happened when they were featured on a local artist compilation project in their hometown, Umlazi.
