 Stip was born in Columbus, Ohio and was introduced to music at age 5 when he began taking drum lessons. At age 9, he started and joined his first band. He was in various bands both in and out of school performing at all types of venues and events from then until around sophomore year of high school. During this time he took up learning other instruments such as guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele, and due to a lack of dedicated band members had also begun singing. Although the bands were the main focus at the time, Treezy was still writing and recording raps on the side using YouTube beats, an internal laptop microphone and GarageBand. However, finding the right beat on YouTube was time consuming so he soon started using an 8-Track Tascam recorder to create his own beats with an old Yamaha electric piano from the 90’s and some live instruments. After realizing how fast he could do things alone, he made the switch to a full time rapper. He later got an audio engineering certification and shortly after started producing beats digitally. It was in 2015 that Stip Treezy was established and since then Stip has been dedicating himself to not just the lyrical and performance aspect of what he does, but the production and engineering elements as well.
