Ojibwe maker of music from the south-west Great Lakes area; between the lakes of Superior and Mille Lacs. Born in Onamia; south of the Mille Lacs Reservation, Derrtie Al was raised on all three main districts of the Reservation. Constantly moving between the houses of his parents and aunties. An interest of music was apparent from a young age & music was being created by the age of 14. The name Derrtie Al comes from a High School rap circle where friends would gather in the garage of one of Al's aunts and record freestyle raps. In 2012, Derrtie Al completed and released his first project 123093: EndOfTheWorldMusic. The title being a combination of his birth year and the conspiracy of the 2012 end of the world. Because of this not happening Derrtie Al was able to continue making music for the foreseeable future. After the release of his first project. Derrtie Al began a life of Jail In and Outs for DWI and petty probation violations. Not able to fully focus on a music career, Al turned to street drugs and alcohol to fill the void. Still recording music through out the years, it wasn't until 2017 that a new solo project would emerge from Derrtie Al.
