With original music and lyrics by five time Number One hit songwriter Miranda Cooper, responsible for iconic songs written for Girls Aloud, Sugababes and Kylie Minogue, Fantastically Great Women tells the stories as some of history’s strongest mothers, sisters and daughters who really did change the world. This ‘pop fuelled celebration of female empowerment’ (Norwich Evening News) follows our heroine Jade, who breaks away from her class at the local museum in search of adventure and is surprised to meet some of the original ‘wonder women’ from history. Continuing their adventure across the UK the Fantastic Women open in London at the Theatre Royal Stratford East before finishing this tour at the Pleasance Grand with a run at the Edinburgh Festival. Celebrated dramatist Chris Bush & Miranda Cooper adapt suffragette descendant Kate Pankhurst’s award-winning picture book with music by Miranda Cooper and Jennifer Decilveo (Miley Cyrus, Beth Ditto) and direction by Amy Hodge (Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear National Theatre).
