Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that unwittingly prepare us for what's to come. Recording artist Kevin Cruz knows this all too well. Originally born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved with his family to Lawrence, MA, as child and it was here where he began his career as DJ Mostwanted. He started to DJ at the tender age of 10 and eventually found himself DJ'ing at lounges and, most influentially, house parties. It was his father's passing in 2004 from an overdose that left Cruz mired in emotional turmoil and from the depths of this emotional chasm emerged the fuel that would propel Cruz toward music production. After moving back to New York, Cruz decided to leave school and pursue the music business under the mentorship of longtime friend, SIX. A self taught producer, Cruz's DJ background established a foundation of exceptional versatility, pulling from Hiphop, Salsa, and Reggae-ton. Cruz began networking with local artists where he was able to learn the ins and outs of engineering and his proficiency found him in demand all over the United States. He is credited for Young M.A's breakthrough record, "OOOUUU”, "Scooby Doo" by DJ Kass, and "What A Bam Bam" by Amara La Negra. Further credits include Erick Sermon, Jaquae, Fred the Godson, Fat Boy Izzo, Cristion Dior, Nawlage, Notch, and Jay Ramirez, etc. A DJ, producer, engineer and artist, Kevin Cruz is able to harness the experience he has gained from his circuitous journey and channel it into his own music.
