中E師 is a Hong Kong-based DJ and music producer. Gifted in beat-maneuvering and sound-sampling, 中E師 renovates electronic music by creating his one-of-a-kind blend of Cantopop, and assorted bass sounds. In 2019, he launched his debut EP《中E》"Chinese Ecstasy", a sound bath of East-meet-West cultural sonic euphoria and a perfect showcase of his signature touches, including soundbites of legendary Hong Kong movies and cultural icon featuring Stephen Chow, Bruce Lee and LMF, mashed together with oriental keyboard loops. 中E師 is more well-known as local artists’ producer recently under his real name Yip Yiu Kwan. He worked with Heyo, Luna Is A Bep, 莊正 Lester Chong in recent years, of which 《每當幻變時》with Luna Is A Bep was awarded Best Electronic Single in TONE Music Award 2022. He also produced music for Whet Records by Warner Music and SEEAHOLE which serve to push local electronic music outside of Hong Kong. In the scope of music related cultural work, he and his peers run a venue YYY inspired by the legendary XXX and Heavy Hong Kong, promoting local music and party culture with DIY sound system installation. Aiming at creating a space to connect same minded people in different communities and a platform for them to express freely. In the near future, 中E師 will continue to grow and extend the concept of East-meet-West into his art and explore new sounds through the process. He strongly believes that to become a true musician, one has to master the art of living.
