A Houston-based Nigerian artist, Kechi is best known as 1 of the 2 survivors of the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash in Nigeria, in which she sustained 3rd degree burns over 65% of her body. More recently, she became known for her appearance on hit TV show, America's Got Talent, a platform on which the show’s founder and co-judge Simon Cowell said to her, “you have proven that you belong on this stage not only because of your story, but also because of your voice.” Proving him right, Kechi became a two-time finalist on AGT in 2017 and 2019, snagging Cowell’s golden buzzer in the 2019 AGT Champions show. Kechi has since performed on incredible stages like Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Carnegie Hall and Barclays Center in New York. In 2018, her cover of The Greatest Showman soundtrack, “This is Me” exposed her to a more global audience, averaging over 2 million views on YouTube. Building a music career as an inspirational artist, Kechi released her 1st single, "Don't You Dare". Its relatable message resonates with anyone going through hardship. Kechi's self-titled debut album dropped on April 15 2022 . Working with award-winning songwriter James Breedwell and globally renowned producer, Kevin Charge, this album will familiarize listeners with Kechi’s sound while showcasing some of her major musical influences, such as Cynthia Erivo, Disney and Adele. In a world with ever-changing standards Kechi seeks to set her own, to use her music and voice to inspire others to do the same.
