Born on 13th February 1983, Edward Mwanza known professionally as Mufrika (or African) is a songwriter and composer. Mufrika plays an African traditional musical instrument, taught to him by his father, called a Kalimba. The Kalimba is a type of plucked idiophone (or thumb piano with 14 keys 6 uppers and 8 lower, and a calabash at the bottom) common throughout Sub-Sahara.
