Pinty rose to prominence as part of the same South London crew as King Krule and Jamie Isaac, and has recently worked with Metronomy and Emma-Jean Thackray. His skippy verses and inventive wordplay place Pinty among the most exciting voices in alternative UK music. As a lyricist he is influenced by MCs like Skibadee, and story-tellers like Willie Nelson. A versatile rapper, Pinty has a knack for crafting agile verses over jazz-tinged house, hip-hop beats, drum & bass and more. Having built a reputation through residencies on radio stations like Balamii and Reprezent, Pinty released his first EP City Limits through Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section imprint. He followed up with two further EPs - Midnight Moods and Tomorrow’s Where I’m At - on the Winged Feet label. Both EPs garnered attention from radio, music press and tastemakers alike. His single Comfort Me was chosen by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac as her Tune of the Week. In 2022 Pinty released his mixtape, Pinty's House, featuring a diverse roster of collaborators including King Krule, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Catching Cairo and more. The George Fitzgerald-produced ‘Stuck Like Glue’ landed on the BBC Radio 1 introducing playlist. The mixtape is best described as a house party in Pinty’s head, with something different playing in every room. Hosting guest vocalists and a different producer on each track, ‘Pinty’s House’ is a mixtape in its truest sense, a pick & mix of sounds and styles.
