The Paolo Profeti European Collective is a band related to Contemporary Jazz, with sounds ranging from Rock to Cinematic Music but still well rooted in Jazz tradition and expression. Profeti, originally from Italy, has been living in Bucharest for 11 years, where he founded a crossover band, trying to create an imaginary bridge between musicians from different European countries, hence the name European Collective. The original music written and arranged by the author himself, the contemporary sounds, the spontaneity of the musical gesture, a long-tested rhythm section made up of 3 of the most sensitive musicians of the new generation of Italian jazz, make the band sound truly unique. The music of the Collective is meant to be music not only to be listened to but really to be experienced as a synaesthetic experience. Already active for 9 years, they have to their credit numerous appearances on international stages (Italy, Romania, Turkey, Germany, Norway, Finland). The lineup currently features Paolo Profeti on alto sax, flute, compositions and arrangements, the Austrian Siegmar Brecher on bass clarinet, Michele Bonifati on guitar, Giacomo Papetti on bass and Alessandro Rossi on drums. They have 3 albums released: Waiting for Bucharest (Fiver House Records, 2015), Glide (UR Records, 2019) and their latest upcoming Peer Out (Tosky Records, 2024).
