Growing up in Kerala, India, Julian had no formal piano training until he was 16 years old, when he was spotted playing in his hometown of Trivandrum and invited to study at one of the UK's most prestigious music schools. It wasn’t long until he found himself playing at some of the great venues around the world including the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican, NCPA in Mumbai and Dvorak Prague International Music Festival, as well as Buckingham Palace for British and Indian royalty. He has been mentored by acclaimed pianist Sir Andras Schiff who invited him to play for his recital series at venues in New York, Brussels, Berlin and Weimar. Keen to explore his own creativity and compositional skills outside of core classical music, Julian’s brand-new solo piano EP has a sense of warmth, nostalgia and of quiet reflection as he contemplates his early childhood memories growing up in Kerala, and of leaving his family at such a young age to pursue a life in music.
