Born and raised in the quaint town of Diepenbeek (BE), Willem's musical enthusiasm was initially peaked by his hobbyist keyboard playing father. At the age of 7, he took up general music theory at the local music academy and one year later he chose the church organ as his main instrument. While growing up, Willem played keyboards and drums in his high school band among others.
After high school, Willem got into the fascinating world of digital audio workstations and electronic music. He became a releasing artist under several monickers and toured the world under some of them. After realizing that life as a touring club dj was not exactly what he wanted, Willem retreated to his day job as a high school teacher, while staying musically active in numerous projects and as a sync composer for various sonic branding agencies. In this field he could explore all sorts of styles, sounds and genres. Another perk of composing on brief was that he didn't have to think about what to make. He didn't have to show himself, not just yet.
In 2019, Willem took on the challenge of composing a two-and-a-half-hour long musical with full orchestra. It was wonderful. In 2021 he started accumulating hardware synthesizers and started another fun electronic project.
It is through these projects over the past few years that Willem has learned that music does not come from thinking, but rather from feeling and flowing. Now, he is finally ready to share his solo piano melodies with the world.
