Jeffrey got his first guitar at age 12 from his mom. A few months later she crawled into her orange Fiat hatchback with an 8 Track of Pink Floyd’s Meddle, his favorite quilt, and a bottle of pills - ending her life. Recovery included all night listens to the White Album and Bowie’s Hunky Dory. Institutionalized at 15 as an at-risk teen, he learned to bullshit, communicate, and cope (somewhat). As lead guitarist, he joined East Village NYC punkers, Clowns For Progress. After 2 Albums, 4 national tours in a van, and admittedly way too much clown make-up to remain self-respectful - he quit. Yoga became the convergence of all things musical, healing, and mystical. The immediacy of the practice was a viable means to pacify the demons of low self-worth and unearthed an unquenchable desire to return again and again to a guitar, a song, a melody - the gnawing notion of unfinished business. Upon making the song and video, Sometimes Angels, an uncharacteristic take on suicide, featuring numerous suicide survivors, he caught the attention of Grammy Award Winning Rock Producer, Rob Fraboni. Fraboni immediately felt the depth of Jeffrey’s artistry, uniqueness of his voice, and they at once assembled a troupe of raconteur musicians and made what is aptly named, Jewel in the Mud. The first single and video, Jewel in the Mud, from the album of the same name is slotted to be released Fall 2019.
