EKKo Sykes is a Florida native who grew up on hip-hop. When he was young EKKo discovered the music of Tupac Shakur. Ever since hes been addicted to rap. EKKo didnt listen to any other genre of music until the age of 18. Growing up he would get his favorite songs stuck in his head but usually forget most of the words. So he would make up his own words to the rhythm of the song he was hooked on. This is one of the things that led EKKo into writing his own songs. He didnt start getting serious about doing his own music until the age of 20. A friend showed EKKo a demo CD he had recorded of himself rapping and EKKo was impressed. EKKo asked his friend to show him some pointers on writing raps. The friend did so and even featured EKKo on a song called "sanitarium" so EKKo could practice. Ever since EKKo has been creating his own sound targeting people who can relate the most. EKKo likes to make high energy songs for parties, and deep songs involving real life situations EKKo has gone through dealing with struggles. Looking at EKKo you would think he's just an ordinary redneck who seems out of place at a rap show. But, the guy can SPIT!
