Dion Warlocke is a rock band from central Oklahoma. Fueled by alternative, new wave, and surf punk styles, the four-piece creates what can be called music. Liberated from aspirations of popularity, the band indulges in fine-tuned nonsense. From deconstructions of the human ego to tributes to the mundane, Dion Warlocke celebrates the inherent absurdity of human life because it's more fun than the alternative, especially when paired with guitar, synth, and drums. Set to upbeat melodies and harmonies, the group's sarcastic quirks and progressive edges are buried deeply enough in its material that the average listener is bound to miss them. If anything can be deemed original anymore, Dion Warlocke is an original voice that bridges the gap between Gen X cynicism and Millennial nihilism through a potpourri of devil-may-care rock arrangements and obscure muses. Dion Warlocke is arguably good at this. Whether or not it matters or if anyone cares at all has yet to be determined.
