Based in the Netherlands, Thalie debuted in 2018 with her single ‘Give Me Your Love,” a soulful slow jam off her self-titled album, a project that led her to embracing R&B and Neo Soul on a deeper level. Her passion for singing started at a young age – it was simply natural, no grandiose moment of clarity. In her words, “I just did it.” Growing up she gained an appreciation for different cultures and the music that derived from them. Influenced by Prince and Erykah Badu, she nurtured her own style, transforming her art of songwriting into a sound that’s beautiful and sentimental. Like a painter working with a canvas, Thalie aims to invoke emotion, yearning to capture those precious experiences in time. Traveling around the world taught her that music is truly a universal language that connects us all in a way that’s magical. Living in the town of Leeuwarden, the R&B scene is almost nonexistent, but she’s determined to change that whether she’s performing locally or internationally. As a refugee in a stranger’s land that she now calls home she found consolation in her craft. With a pen in hand and a song in her heart, she escaped into a world where anything is possible, and love knows no limits.
