Chris Kalli: A vocalist, songwriter, musician and producer. An artist whose passion for humanity is yielded through the depth of his melodies and lyrics. He studied Music, Vocals and Piano at ICMP the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and learnt to play guitar, with a childhood friend and former band member, Kyri Tsappas. After College, their Blues band (‘Chris Kalli’s Blues Force’) was formed, they played in festivals and notorious venues in London: Spice of Life, Jazz after Dark, ‘Ain't Nothin but’, Jazz Cafe and Proud Camden, to name but a few. ‘Chris Kalli’s Blues Force’ recorded a live album at ‘Cream Studios’, of which some songs have been added as bonus tracks to the album ‘Life & Shadows’. The band, with the help of Phill Knight, aided The Helen Bamber Foundation by recording and performing their music (“Just enough for the real world”) to raise awareness for human trafficking across the world. When the band came to the end of its journey, Chris Kalli travelled to South America with the intention to refine his artistry. He played in ‘The Blues and Jazz festival’ (in Rio de Janeiro), local bars across South Brazil and cultural events in the favela of Vidigal in Rio. Upon returning to London, he recorded this album ‘Life and shadows’ at The chocolate factory studios. Through patience, dedication and reflection, Chris Kalli has gone on to create an anthology of music that establishes cross genres and creates fusions of textures and sounds.
