217YAY, 26 years of age, born Tajé Kindred-Chandler, is a Force to be reckoned with & I mean that quite literally. From his energy on stage and in studio, to his melodies & messages, this up and coming artist from Springfield, Illinois is what you would call Raw Art at it's finest. Born December 31, 1993 Yay wrote his first poem when he was 8 years old. Gaining his influence from his Mother and her younger brother who were both local artist. Yay's love for music didn't manifest into what it is now until the sudden death of his Father, Terence 'JayJay' Kindred of Hampton, Virginia, who also wrote poetry. Upon his release from Federal Prison, Yay's Father was the first person to acknowledge his musical talents and tell him to take it serious. His Father's Murder was a wake up call. Ever since he's been chasing his dreams of creating what he calls "Trap Art" and playing his part in changing the world for the better. Volunteering at local schools, churches, businesses and for several different Non For Profit organizations, Yay isn't just an artist made up of his environment but a true Humanitarian. He believes, "The youth are the future & it take a Tribe to raise a child." Which was his main reason for incorporating the Golden Book of Springfield Foundation.
