AfriKing is a Liberian-Sierra Leonean born rapper and song writer. He migrated from his birth place to Trenton, NJ at age 12, in an effort to escape the Liberian civil war. His mother Zainab worked three jobs to provide for him and his family; this was the main thing that fueled his drive to win. Adjusting to his new life in America was tough, but life back in Africa was tougher. AfriKing developed an interest for music while studying at Rutgers University, but did not take it serious until after graduating. Close friends “I.T. Official” and “Sir Wann” were seasoned artists, so it motivated him to join forces and form the Crown Table music group. AfriKing hopes to provide the gifts of peace and hope through his stories of survival in Liberia and NJ. His latest project “Higher Ground” was released on January 23rd, 2023.
