Seabuckthorn is an alias for the solo work of English acoustic guitarist Andy Cartwright who uses finger picking & bowing techniques combined with various open tunings to form a mixture of approaches, often with layered accompaniments. Generally the songs lean towards to the experimental genre, whilst on the edge of the ambient and folk.
 Previous albums have been released on labels Bookmaker Records, Lost Tribe Sound, Eilean Rec, IIKKI, Fluid Audio, LAAPS and a collaboration with ambient/electronic artist Loscil has been released by Thesis Project (US). Sonido Polifonico (UK) also released a split with guitarist Dean McPhee. 
 Since growing up in Oxfordshire, he studied Sound Engineering in Cornwall, then lived in the cities of London, Paris & Bristol, Cartwright currently resides in the southern French Alps making music. 
 Cartwright has been actively touring internationally, performing live in festivals & events throughout Europe. 
 Several songs have featured in film, documentaries and contemporary dance. 
 The latest 2024 album called this warm, this late features picked guitars & ukulele passages with Phil Cassel on the double bass & trombone throughout the album. Released on CD by UK label Quiet Details. The concept of the album was to interpret 'quiet details'.
