Raised in the Inland Empire of California, Chap D provides a sound and perspective different than what is heard in today’s music. His style depicts his cool demeanor and “lady’s man” attitude. With an upbringing where Jazz/Soul music was a focal point and with influences coming from rappers such as Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, Ma$e, etc., he provides a laid back sound accompanied by a smooth, melodic flow. Songs such as “International” and “Thoughts on the 91” exemplify his “feel good” style in music with catchy melodies and braggadocious lyrics with a whole lot of game to them.
