Brian Sentana Canatsey is a violinist & ceremonialist—drawing from Middle Eastern & South American indigenous traditions. Having studied & played with indigenous shamans in Colombia, Peru, & Oaxaca, Brian’s musical work is largely informed by the master plant dietas he completed with Noya Rao & Bobinsana, as well as the blessings & guidance he received from the Siona abuelas in Putomayo, Colombia. He also apprenticed for a year with Colombian Taita Cesar Lezama. Brian plays & sings Middle Eastern sacred music & prayers, and is classically trained - having studied violin with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. His eclectic blend of influences integrates teachings from Abrahamic mysticism & ancient ceremonial practices from around the world - rooted in study of reputed scholarship & received indigenous wisdom.
