Acclaimed by critics as „a strange and unusual, but interesting and harmonious combination of flute and accordion“ with an extraordinary capacity to move the audience „on a journey during which you could hardly refrain from dancing.“ (Slobodna Dalmacija), Duo Artina is one of the most charismatic and versatile Croatian chamber ensembles of the younger generation. The members of Duo Artina, flautist Andrea Jelavić and accordionist Martina Jembrišak found the inspiration for its name, in a small island situated on Croatia’s dazzling coastline. They started their collaboration in 2016 by playing their first concert as part of an international classical music festival in Split, and since then they have been giving concerts throughout Croatia and worldwide. Duo Artina's repertoire includes works from baroque to Argentinian tango, as well as numerous premieres of contemporary pieces written by notable composers. In 2019, despite of the lack of original literature for flute and accordion, Duo Artina made a call for scores in order to create a new original repertoire. Already in the first month they recieved a big number of entries and their call for scores was promoted on the most influential webpages for classical contemporary music around the world. After commissioning more than fifty new works, Duo Artina selected nine of them which are presented on their debut album Little Stories.
